When children and families are hurting, Boys Town North Florida is there, providing hope and healing as a good neighbor in the community. With the support of our generous donors, we’re reuniting children with their families, finding foster homes for others, providing a Boys Town family for those with nowhere else to turn, and helping many others in their own homes so they can stay with their families.
Boys Town North Florida is part of the original Boys Town, founded nearly 100 years ago in Omaha, Neb. As a national leader in the treatment and care of abused, abandoned and neglected girls and boys, Boys Town provides children with a safe, caring, loving environment where they gain confidence to heal and learn skills to become productive citizens.
The first of Boys Town’s national sites, Boys Town North Florida has been serving children and families since 1983. In 2014, its Integrated Continuum of Care® services touched the lives of 4,700 people in North Florida, including 748 children who received direct assistance from Treatment Family Services and Child and Family Support Services.

These services include:
- Boys Town Treatment Family Homes SM – Married couples called Family-Teachers® care for children in three homes for boys and two homes for girls in Tallahassee.
- Boys Town Foster Family Services® – Foster parents receive training from Boys Town so they can take in children who can’t return to their own families because of abuse, neglect or other care issues.
- Boys Town In-Home Family Services® – Trained family consultants work with struggling families in their own homes.
- Boys Town Care Coordination Services – Consultants help parents and caregivers access, navigate and monitor the services their children need, providing a lifeline for children suffering from mental health issues.
Boys Town North Florida also offers a variety of preventive and self-help programs, including our Common Sense Parenting® classes, where parents learn positive discipline and relationship-building skills.
Our newest service, ART (Art, Resources, Training) Town is a multi-use retreat for therapy, mentoring and creativity for children and families that face a wide variety of challenges. Here, they can concentrate on restoring their spirits and healing their souls.
The Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance has named Boys Town an Accredited Charity. And Charity Navigator, one of the nation’s largest and most-respected charity rating systems, has awarded Boys Town its highest ratings for the sound management of its finances.
With a firm belief in providing the right care, at the right time, in the right way, Boys Town North Florida lives out its mission to change the way America cares for children, families and communities every day.
