Dinner on the “T”

A progressive dinner route

Tallahassee’s growth can be a challenge to keep up with and even navigate at times. The developing urban core’s congested traffic, along with confusing street and garage parking rules and never-ending construction zones, can put a damper on any evening. During non-football weekends you may be able to mitigate the frustrations associated with the drive by requesting an Uber that doesn’t have sky high surging prices, and even then, you’re submitting yourself to a night dependent on various Uber rides and prices subject to change at any time hankfully, exploring Tallahassee’s “local flavors” just got a lot easier with the City of Tallahassee’s Trolley service and Driftour’s progressive dinner tour “Dinner on the ‘T’.”Leave those worries and expenses behind and hop on the “T.”

We’ve highlighted our favorites along each route through a progressive dinner tour that invites you to wind down from the work week in Midtown, stimulate your taste buds in Downtown, bring up the energy in College Town, and hit the sweet spot at Cascades. Our “Dinner on the ‘T’” tour allows you to check off multiple spots from your list at once and mark the places you’ll be sure to return to. It’s a four course meal on wheels.

Start off in Midtown at:

Fuma Cigar Lounge, F-SAT: 1pm-12am

Wind up with a Sangria

We invite you to set the mood at an intimate cigar and bar lounge and wind up your night with a sangria. At Fuma you’ll find a larger than life space equipped with a fully stocked walk-in humidor and bar. Whether the mood calls for a cocktail before dinner or a Cuban coffee fix to recharge, Fuma’s design offers a comfy chair to unload. Have a drink, learn how to hold a cigar, and set the tone for a night out on the town.

Hop back on the “T” and ride through Midtown and into Downtown to:

The Southern Pub, F-SAT: 11:30am–10pm

Appetizer: Fried Oysters

Take it up a notch and find your appetizer in a southern inspired menu. Established in 2015, the Southern Pub breathes life into an evening in downtown Tallahassee. Sit beneath the patio lights dwindling between high-rises and enjoy a selection of craft beers, a light breeze and teasing southern eats.

Catch the trolley and follow us into vibrant College Town:

Centrale Pizza Parm and Bar, F: 4pm- 2pm | SAT: 12pm-2am

Main Entrée: Centrale Meatballs and Stuffed Mushrooms

College Town’s nightlife will spring you and your taste buds into action. Designed specifically for a social experience, Centrale’s menu offers “For the Table” options meant for those eager to share good food and conversation. The Italian inspired concept offers a wide variety of wines and a selection of cleverly named specialty cocktails destined to make you chuckle. Bring your appetite and curiosity to this friendly and approachable staff.

Wind the evening down and grab dessert with a backdrop of Cascades Park:

The Edison, F:11am-11pm | SAT: 10AM-11pm

Dessert: Magic City Cake

Exposed brick and industrial finishes line the inside and outside of this local gem. Previously an electrical utility building, this historic renovation features high ceilings and a fine dining menu.

The internationally inspired selection of entrees and drink items make room for an audience celebrating life’s triumphs. Enjoy decadent flavors by the moonlight and hop back on the trolley and out of the bustling city center.

The “T” is a free trolley service making various stops in Midtown, Downtown, College Town and Cascades Park. It runs on Friday and Saturday from 4:30pm to 1am and stops at the bus stop with a red circular sign marked with a yellow “T” every 20 to 30 minutes. The City provides a real-time interactive map at www.talgov.com/gis/trolley/index.html that tracks the trolley and ensures you never miss your ride.

The “Dinner on the ‘T’” Tour is a Self-Guided Tour by Driftour. Self-Guided Tours are itineraries you can follow at your own pace. Explore local hot spots, enjoy curated menu recommendations, and access easy to use navigation assistance all in one mobile-friendly platform.
